Only residents who live within Lewisville city limits and pay a Lewisville water bill are eligible to participate in monthly collection days. We cannot accept HHW waste from Lewisville businesses or residents from other municipalities. Please bring a valid drivers license to prove residency. Non-residents and businesses will be turned away at the gate.

Latex Paint

1. Add equal parts kitty litter (or absorbent) to latex paint in the can (one part kitty litter to one part paint). If you have more than a half a can, you can also pour the paint into a plastic lined cardboard box then pour in cat litter.
2. Stir the cat litter into the paint until it has an oatmeal-like consistency that will not spill out.
3. Allow the paint and cat litter "oatmeal" mixture to sit for at least one hour.
4. Throw the dried paint in the can in the garbage with the lid off.

Instead of cat litter, you can use a commercial paint hardener. Follow the instructions on the label. For very small amounts, you can paint on cardboard or newspaper and discard the newspaper/cardboard in the garbage when dry.

Oil based paints and stains are hazardous and should be brought to our event. Please check paint can labels to determine the type of paint you have.
