Trash and Recycling

The City of Lewisville franchises residential trash and recycling services, multi-family trash and recycling services, and commercial trash services with Republic Services. In addition to these franchised services, the City provides drop-off recycling at several City facilities. Residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is managed through a monthly collection program at the City’s Residential Convenience Center.

Cart colors may vary from city to city, but in Lewisville:

• Blue = Trash
• Green = Recycling (clean, loose and dry...not bagged)

Automated side-load (ASL) trash trucks are currently being phased into use in all Lewisville neighborhoods serviced by Republic. Any bulk trash items outside of the carts will be collected by a separate truck. ASL trucks for recycling have been in use for quite some time.

To ensure safe and efficient service, carts should be placed:

• at least 3 feet between carts and any other objects (tree, mailbox, cars, etc.)
• with at least 16 feet of clearance above carts
• out for service by 7 a.m.
