Neighborhood Resource Officers (NRO)

Neighborhood Resource Officers are certified Peace Officers and trained Crime Prevention Specialists assigned to the Support Bureau of the Lewisville Police Department. Each N.R.O. is designated to serve a specific district within the City of Lewisville.

These officers serve as vital links between the Police Department and the community. They work closely with residents, civic groups, schools, and other organizations to develop, implement, and evaluate effective crime prevention strategies. By fostering strong partnerships, N.R.O.s help promote public safety and trust within each district.

In addition to community outreach, N.R.O.s assist local businesses by offering education and resources on topics such as shoplifting prevention, fraud awareness, handling bad checks, burglary deterrence, and creating safe workplace environments. Each officer is trained to conduct crime prevention surveys for businesses, providing valuable insights that can reduce the risk of future incidents.

Through collaboration, education, and proactive engagement, our Neighborhood Resource Officers play a key role in building safer neighborhoods and a stronger community.
