Citizen Police Academy (CPA)
Join the Citizen Police Academy to gain an in-depth understanding of police operations, training, and procedures. This interactive program includes ride-outs, demonstrations, and discussions with officers. Use this link to learn more about the Citizen Police Academy.
- Open to Lewisville residents and people who work in Lewisville
- Typically runs for 10 weeks, Spring classes are in the evening and Fall classes are in the daytime.
- Provides hands-on learning and behind-the-scenes insights.
Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) *Coming Soon*
Become a volunteer and support the department in various administrative and community outreach roles.
- Assist with special events and crime prevention programs.
- Provide clerical and logistical support to officers.
- Help enhance the relationship between police and the community.
Ride-Out Program
Experience a day in the life of a Lewisville Police officer by participating in the Ride-Out Program.
- Riders must be over 18 years of age.
- Available to residents and students interested in law enforcement.
- Requires a waiver, application, and background check.
- Provides first-hand experience of daily police duties and community interactions.

Public Safety Cadets (For Youth 14-20 Years Old)
The Law Enforcement Explorer Program provides young people with an interest in law enforcement a chance to train, learn, and engage with officers. Use this link to learn more about the Public Safety Cadets.

- Involves leadership training, physical fitness, and police education.
- Participants can assist with community events and department activities.
Neighborhood Watch Program

Lewisville Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (LCPAAA)
Maintaining a safe community requires a partnership between police and residents. Volunteers are needed to help organize local crime watch groups. Residents wanting a more intense volunteer experience can attend the annual Citizens Police Academy in the fall, and afterward can become a member of the Lewisville Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association.
