Medical Insurance

Group medical insurance is provided to all regular, full-time employees who work at least 30 hours per week. No coverage is provided to regular, part-time or seasonal employees.

Employees have a choice of two levels of medical coverage – the PURPLE plan and the GREEN plan that includes a Health Savings Account Plan (HSA). Both plans are on CIGNA's Open Access Plus (OAP) Network and only have in-network benefits. The waiting period for an eligible employee and their dependent(s), if elected, is 30 days from date of hire and coverage terminates the last date of the employee's employment with the City. Employees may make changes to their coverage through the plan year if you notify Human Resources of any requested change in status within 30 days of the qualifying event.

Deductions for medical premiums and employee HSA contributions are deducted 24 times per year or less depending on your effective date. City contributions are given 24 times per year or less depending on your effective date. Employees may make changes to their coverage throughout the plan year if Human Resources is notified of any requested change in status within 30 days of the qualifying event.
