Financial planning includes taking the steps to protect yourself and your family when the unthinkable happens.  Having adequate insurance coverage in the event of a disabling condition is the foundation of a solid financial plan.  Long Term Disability (LTD) provides the protection you need to ensure that your way of life is protected in the case of a serious injury or illness.  The following is a summary of the Long Term Disability plan that the City of Lewisville purchases for each full-time employee.

• Your LTD benefit is equal to 60% of pre-disibility pay
• Monthly benefit maximum is $7,000
• Monthly benefit minimum is $100
• Period before benefits are payable is 180 days
• Rehabilitation Program is available
• Mental illness/substance abuse limitation is 24 months
