Overview

Lewisville City Hall was designed to reflect 1920s-style architecture, as seen in the Well House, located in front to the building. The Well House, now the Visitor Information Center, serves as a welcoming hub for residents and visitors alike, offering information on local attractions, hotels, dining, and things to do throughout Lewisville. Guests can also shop for unique Lewisville merchandise and items from local artisans and shops. 

Adjacent to the Visit Information Center, is the Veteran’s Memorial. The original memorial was installed in 1972 and was removed for City Hall construction. The original seals were incorporated into a new and larger design that was dedicated by the VFW on Dec. 7 (Pearl Harbor Day) of 2003.

A stone plate marks the vault containing two time capsules that will be opened in 50 years (2053). Contents include newspapers from the day of the grand opening, a Lewisville High School  yearbook, police and fire department patches, a JC Penney catalog, and lots of photos.

Inside the building, the top of the dome is 82 feet high. The building has 70 support piers with many as big as 42" in diameter and reaching a depth of 86 feet. That means the building is as deep as it is tall.

The granite seal in the main lobby was cut out by a Dallas company using a water jet process, and each piece of stone was individually cut and placed to for the seal.

The year 1925 is marked in the seal because that is the year Lewisville became a city. It existed as a farm settlement (and later a railroad depot) before that, dating from the 1840s.
