Engineering conducts plan review, design and mapping functions. The division reviews construction plans for public improvements for compliance with City, State and Federal guidelines. Plans and specifications are designed for public improvements, including paving, drainage, water lines, sewer lines and traffic control. Also, mapping records and as-built construction plans are prepared and maintained. Engineering provides information and assistance to the public and administers selected ordinances and codes.

The Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM's) for the City of Lewisville along with other publications on flood protection and local flood studies and Elevation Certificates can be found in the Engineering Department, located on the second floor of City Hall upon request.  You can visit the Engineering offices or call 972.219.3490 for information with regard to any questions about basic FIRM information, floodplain and/or floodway determinations, historical flood information or any other the information in this newsletter. The Engineering staff can help you with any questions you about the flood hazard for your property and if requested, the engineering staff will visit your property to review flood problems and explain what can be done to improve the drainage for your property and neighborhood.
