Division of Support Services

Division of Support Services

The Division of Support Services oversees a variety of functions within our department such as Fire Investigations, Public Education, Facilities and Vehicle Maintenance along with budget administration and data/records management.

Fire Investigation Division is responsible for all investigations including as fire, arson, pre-employment background checks and internal affairs. The Division Chief in this position is a certified firefighter and a sworn peace officer who oversees this division. He currently has 12 firefighters that are cross trained as fire investigators to assist in carrying out the division duties.

Ruth Woodward is our Data Management Technician who has the responsibility of keeping our records and computers working together, which can be very interesting at times. She processes open record requests, EMS records and is responsible for state reporting compliance.

Public Education is also housed within the support services. We have an Open House at Central Fire Station during Fire Prevention Week each October where we spread the word about fire prevention and other safety related issues.  This division coordinates our Juvenile Fire Starters Program, Blazing the Trail for Literacy, Citizens Fire Academy and Life and Fire Safety Brigade.

Our Support Division oversees protective clothing, uniform duties, facility maintenance including new construction projects, and vehicle maintenance.

You will find our department members and equipment at special events in our community throughout the year. Please bring your families to the nearest fire house so we can get know each other while helping your family learn about fire safety.

If you are interested in scheduling a tour of one of our stations or a visit from our firefighters, please contact us at 972.219.3580.
