Building Services manages and coordinates the plan review, permitting and inspection of private construction projects in accordance with the City of Lewisville ordinances and adopted Building Codes. A building permit is required for all new construction, remodeling, changes or additions to structures which includes signs, fences, retaining walls, swimming pools, patio covers, rewiring, electrical or mechanical work and plumbing.
In compliance with the disaster declarations recently signed by Denton County Judge Andy Eads and Mayor Rudy Durham, due to the COVID-19 disease outbreak, the Building Services Department has adjusted operations in the following ways:
The permitting office in City Hall is closed to the public. However, permit applications and inspections requests will still be accepted electronically through MyGovernmentOnline.
Plan review will continue as normal.
Inspection services have been altered to account for the disaster declaration. Please call the department mainline 972.219.3470 for more information about the inspection you may need.
Currently, there are NO valid door-to-door solicitor permits in Lewisville. Charities are exempted, but commercial solicitors knocking on doors right now do not have the required permit and are acting in violation of city ordinance. Residents can report them by calling the non-emergency line 972.219.3640.
