In-progress reports will be transferred directly to a dispatcher. Those leaving a message will be asked for their name and telephone number in the event LPD needs additional information, but is not required to report graffiti.

The City Charter (Sect. 3.07, para Q) gives the City the right to control all obstructions, encroachments, or encumbrances on public streets, alleys, public grounds, or right-of-ways. The City Council has deemed such installations to be a safety hazard due to their proximity to public roadways. Damage has occurred to high profile vehicles in the past at similar locations. The City Council has directed staff to work with residents to have the assemblies removed from City property. The assembly can be installed on private property if it does not encroach upon City property. A typical installation is adjacent to the homeowner’s driveway. This site allows for a play surface, yet does not create a hazard to the public. Any basketball goal issues can be reported online or by calling Public Services' 24 hour line at 972.219.3510.
