How do I report problems?

Issues can be reported online or by calling Public Services' 24 hour line at 972.219.3510. A dispatcher will take the information and arrange for appropriate action. The Street Maintenance Division addresses issues with potholes, sidewalks, standing water, flooding, ice on roadways and bridges, debris in the roadway, and clogged storm drains.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is responsible for potholes and debris on state roadways in Lewisville, including IH35E, SH 121 Business and Bypass, FM 1171 (Main Street) from IH35E to west city limits, FM 3040, and FM 407. TxDOT can be reached at 940.387.1414 or online.

TREES

The Street Maintenance Division will only remove trees and tree limbs physically on the ground blocking access to City owned rights of way (streets, alleys, sidewalks). If the tree or tree limb has fallen in a resident's yard or is hanging, the resident is responsible for the removal. Trees that need trimming in a median, easement, or park can be reported online or to the Parks and Recreation Department at 972.219.3550. Trees that need trimming in a resident's yard can be reported online or to the Code Enforcement Department at 972.219.3480.

GRAFFITI

Contact the Lewisville Police Department's graffiti reporting hotline, 972.219.5010. Callers will be directed to a voicemail box instructing them to press “0” if the crime is in progress or to leave a message with details of the graffiti's location. In-progress reports will be transferred directly to a dispatcher. Those leaving a message will be asked for their name and telephone number in the event LPD needs additional information, but is not required to report graffiti.

BASKETBALL GOALS

The City Charter (Sect. 3.07, para Q) gives the City the right to control all obstructions, encroachments, or encumbrances on public streets, alleys, public grounds, or right-of-ways. The City Council has deemed such installations to be a safety hazard due to their proximity to public roadways. Damage has occurred to high profile vehicles in the past at similar locations. The City Council has directed staff to work with residents to have the assemblies removed from City property. The assembly can be installed on private property if it does not encroach upon City property. A typical installation is adjacent to the homeowner’s driveway. This site allows for a play surface, yet does not create a hazard to the public. Any basketball goal issues can be reported online or by calling Public Services' 24 hour line at 972.219.3510.

STREET SWEEPING

Commercial streets are swept six (6) times per year and residential streets are swept four (4) times per year. To see when your street is scheduled for sweeping.
