Just a reminder about temporary street closures for the funeral procession of Lewisville Fire Chief Tim Tittle. The closures will start this morning, Friday, Jan. 24, at McGee Lane at First Baptist Church of Lewisville, head south down Old Orchard, Valley Parkway, FM 3040, Edmonds and into Coppell. A flyover of multiple helicopters will start the procession.

Citizens are encouraged to line the route to pay tribute to Chief Tittle and his family. Timing of street closures will be from around 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Drivers should plan accordingly and consider alternate routes.

Qualifications: Qualified Voters and Residents of the City of Lewisville
Duties: The Commission shall act principally as a recommending and advisory body to the City Council. The Commission shall submit recommendations to the City Council, after holding public hearings, on any change or amendment to any of the provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance or the Zoning Districts Map. In public meetings, the Commission also reviews and makes recommendations on any request for preliminary or final plat approval under the provisions set forth in the City of Lewisville General Development Ordinance. The Commission acts in an advisory roll to the City Council on all planning matters relating to the City of Lewisville. In this advisory roll, the Commission may be required to meet outside scheduled meetings with the City Council, consultants, and developers on extensive community projects. This commission also acts in the capacity of the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee, created by Section 395.058 of the Texas Local Government Code. In this capacity, they serve in an advisory roll to:

1. advise and assist the political subdivision in adopting land use assumptions;
2. review the capital improvements plan and file written comments;
3. monitor and evaluate implementation of the capital improvements plan;
4. also serve as members of the Transportation Board (effective June 2, 2008);

and in other advisory areas pertaining to the capital improvements plan and impact fees.
