 2019 Swim Lesson Season

Swim Lesson Registrations for Lewisville Residents will begin on Monday, March 4 at 8 AM, walk in only at Frederick P. Herring Recreation Center, 191 Civic Circle Drive.  Online registration will begin at 10 AM  Register online

Swim Lesson Registration for Non-residents will begin on Wednesday, March 6 at 8 AM, walk in only, at Frederick P. Herring Recreation Center, 191 Civic Circle Drive.  Online registration will begin at 10 AM  Register online

 Swim lessons take place at Sun Valley Aquatic Center. All group lesson sessions run Monday - Thursday.

The parent learns water safety, introduces infant to water, acquaints child to water adjustments & encourages socialization. A parent/adult must accompany each child in the water. 30 minutes $35

Swimmer will learn foundational skills of swimming, such as supported kick, safely entering and exiting the water, and supported floating. Parent is not in the water with the child.

Floating
Pass Level 1 or be able to put face into the water

Swimmer builds additional foundational skills, such as floating independently on tummy and back.

Basic Kicks
Pass Level 2 or be able to float independently on stomach and back

Swimmer focuses on learning the flutter and breaststroke kick. By class completion, your swimmer should be able to flutter kick for 15 yards.

Level 4
Basic Arms
Pass Level 3 or be able to kick on front and back for 15 yards

Swimmers add arm movements to the kicks learned in Level 3. Additional skills taught include rotary breathing, kneeling and standing dives.

Adult Swim Lessons

Ages 16 & up, open to any level

Notice to Parents 
The PARD swim instructors may exercise the right to relocate students to levels other than the one registered. However, this will be done only if there is availability in the recommended class. Improper enrollment may result in the student’s withdrawal from that session of classes, with a pro-rated refund, minus a $3 administrative fee.
