2018-04-20 Garden Ridge Trail Overview


Project Description:

The City of Lewisville Parks and Recreation Department received a federal transportation grant through the Texas Department of Transportation and North Central Texas Council of Governments to design and construct a 4.2 mile trail and 3.6 mile shared use path along Garden Ridge Boulevard and South Valley Parkway to connect the Highland Village DCTA station with the Municipal Annex. The project will connect Highlands Park to Garden Ridge Boulevard via a 10-foot wide trail.

Project Cost & Funding:

At the time the grant was awarded, the project was estimated to cost $2,125,521 - with the federal portion covering $1,518,355 and the TxDOT portion covering $101,048. The required local match is $506,118 (plus any amount exceeding the original estimate) which has been budget in the 4B Fund and Park Dedication Project.  

Estimated Completion: February 2020
