Artist Gigi Miller was selected from a pool of 30 Texas-based applicants to create public art for Centennial Trail, a new trail currently under development in Lewisville. Centennial Trail will connect to the existing Timber Creek Trail, which stretches from the city’s western boundary to Central Park. The new segment will extend east along Timber Creek to Corporate Drive. Use this link to read read more about Centennial Trail.
As part of the project, Miller will design and install a series of artistic trail markers at various locations along the new trail segment, adding visual interest and enhancing the trail experience for users. The artworks are expected to be installed in Fall 2026.
A native Texan based in Austin, Miller is a sculptor with a strong focus on public art. She is particularly interested in creative placemaking and the role of the arts in community development. Known for her whimsical animal sculptures, Miller handcrafts and mosaics each piece with ceramic tiles she makes herself.
DCLID Trail
Local artist Pascale Pryor has been commissioned by the City of Lewisville to design, fabricate, and install public art along the DCLID (Denton County Levee Improvement District) Trail, a new trail currently in development. The DCLID Trail system is part of the City’s long-term vision to ensure that every Lewisville resident is within a 10-minute walk (10MWP) of a quality park.
Phase 1 of the DCLID Trail project will focus on the westernmost section of the planned system, creating connections between Rockbrook Elementary School, nearby churches, local businesses, and surrounding neighborhoods. Use this link to learn more about the trail.
Pryor is a sculptor who works primarily with glass and metal, creating both indoor and outdoor artworks. In describing her artistic approach, she says she likes to “look for simplicity, play with organic shapes, and strive to spark the imagination.”
