Artist statement: Ambassador for the city of Lewisville’s dedicated and hardworking employees, Lewis the Lizard utilizes recycled material from the fleet maintenance building as its foundational inspiration and creation. Re-imagining the native Texas Spiny Lizard, Lewis is a whimsical double headed creature that represents the valued, skilled labor that supports the city while maintaining a charming personality that reflects the warmth of Lewisville. Hundreds of safety reflectors dapple across Lewis to give his scaly appearance a scintillating edge. From all angles, Lewis shines like a beacon to the heart of the city. He tips his cowboy hat to you, happy to be of service.
