Northeast corner, Main and Mill
Narrative
A wooden livery stable opened on the northeast corner of Main and Kealy in 1885 and served the Lewisville farming community until 1932, when the business relocated one block east to make way for the building that stands on the site today. The location housed Huffines Motor Company for nearly 30 years. Today, it has been transformed into the Sparrow On Main event center and retail space.Degan Livery Stable
The wooden livery stable was opened in 1885 by the Hayes family and later was bought by J.W. Degan. It operated until 1932 when the feed mill moved into the former Huffines Motor Company building at Main and Kealy, and the livery stable was demolished sot make way for a new Huffines Motor Company location, much to the disappointment of many Lewisville residents.Huffines Motor Company

J.L. Huffines opened the first Huffines auto dealership in 1924 in Denton and moved the business to Lewisville in 1927. First located in the former City Garage at Main and Kealy, the dealership moved to the corner of Main and Mill in 1932 and to Stemmons Freeway in 1959.
After serving as the home for a series of retail and auto service businesses, the building was purchased in 2023 and carefully remodeled to house Sparrow On Main event center and retail store.
