Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

LVTV broadcasts on channel 1016 on the Astound Broadband system, and channel 15 on Frontier Cable system, features a great lineup of award-winning original programs along with public meetings and timely announcements about city events and operations.

Western Days volunteers needed

The City of Lewisville is accepting applications for volunteers to work the annual Western Days festival on September 25-26 in Old Town Lewisville.

We need your help to make this event a success. Friday and Saturday shifts are available and include many different roles. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old; those younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Anyone who wants to volunteer must sign up at volunteer.cityoflewisville.com. Any new volunteers on the site will need to create an account. Once the account is created, you will be able to find your volunteer opportunities.

Eli Young Band and Randy Rogers Band will be the headliners for Western Days this year. This two-day festival is a family-friendly event that will feature live entertainment on six stages, the World Tamale Eating Championship presented by Padrino Foods, an expanded Western Village sponsored by Frost Bank, Indigenous ACE Dance Troupe, Kid Kountry Playground, Lucha Libre Wrestling, and many more exciting activities.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.
