Post Date:August 05, 2026 2:05 p.m.
The City of Lewisville has named Leila Peeples as its new Director of Human Resources.
“Leila brings more than two decades of human resources experience, along with the strategic judgment and people-centered leadership needed to help guide our organization into the future,” said Claire Powell, City Manager. “She has a strong track record of helping leaders navigate complex employee matters, improving policies and processes, and building systems that support both employees and the organization. What I loved most about Leila was that her leadership style is approachable, authentic, and innovative, all qualities that align closely with the culture we work hard to foster in Lewisville.”
Peeples brings more than 20 years of human resources experience in both the public and private sectors. Since October 2024, she has served as Assistant Director of Human Resources for the City of Fort Worth, providing strategic and operational leadership across several key HR functions supporting a major municipal workforce, including organizational development, talent acquisition, HRIS, HR records, payroll, and budget.
“I am excited to join the City of Lewisville and become part of an organization that is committed to its employees and the community,” said Peeples. “I was drawn to Lewisville’s collaborative culture and the opportunity to build on the strong foundation already in place while helping prepare the organization for the future.”
Peeples previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer at MedStar Mobile Healthcare, the Fort Worth-based emergency and non-emergency mobile healthcare provider serving Tarrant County and led the HR transition when MedStar's operations moved to the City of Fort Worth.
“Throughout my career, I have focused on helping leaders and employees navigate change, improving HR systems and processes, and making it easier for people to understand what is expected and get the support they need,” said Peeples. “I look forward to bringing that experience to Lewisville and learning from the employees and leaders who make Lewisville successful.”
Peeples holds an MBA from Capella University and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP)
