Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

LVTV broadcasts on channel 1016 on the Astound Broadband system, and channel 15 on Frontier Cable system, features a great lineup of award-winning original programs along with public meetings and timely announcements about city events and operations.

City earns 15 Telly Awards for multiple video projects

The City of Lewisville recently earned 15 Telly Awards for video projects related to the Centennial Celebration, the Annual Budget, and Lewisville 2035.

The awarded video projects were:

Lewisville: 100 Years of Change

The City commissioned a Centennial-themed, documentary-style, movie to tell the story of Lewisville’s growth. It features multiple Lewisville residents sharing their stories of growing up here and watching the city change over the last several decades.

This documentary earned:

  • Silver - General Documentary
  • Silver - Craft Editing
  • Bronze - General History
  • Bronze - General Documentary
  • People’s Telly - Silver - General Film
  • People’s Telly - Silver - Best Editing

Sacred Ground: The Legacy Beneath Lewisville
This Centennial-themed documentary shines a light on the untold stories of the Fox-Hembry and Champion families — trailblazers whose lives were deeply rooted in the land and spirit of Lewisville. The film features archival photos and stories from family members and tells how the dreams of these families continue to echo across time, enriching the present and inspiring the future.

This documentary earned:

  • Bronze - Social Impact

Lewisville Lift: The 2026 Proposed Budget Overview

Each year, the City produces a video to inform residents of services and projects included in the proposed budget for the next fiscal year. This video pays homage to the popular tv quiz show, Cash Cab. In Lewisville Lift, City employees are put to the test to see how much they learned about the proposed FY2025-26 budget during the budget workshop held a few weeks before.

For the Love of Lewisville
For the Love of Lewisville is a day of service where volunteer groups come together to serve the Lewisville community and improve the quality of lives for others. This community-wide event includes various repairs/improvements throughout the city ranging from yard work to park cleanup. It strengthens community and creates resiliency by addressing real physical needs in the community while improving community relationships and building community.

Lewisville 2035: Join the Team
The City is creating Lewisville 2035, a comprehensive plan that will guide the City through the next decade. The initiative focuses on key areas and big moves that will be influenced by residents and businesses that call Lewisville home. It will result in a shared vision for what Lewisville will be like in the year 2035. This call-to-action video was created to encourage residents to join the process and to advertise the first of four community meetings.
