Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

LVTV broadcasts on channel 1016 on the Astound Broadband system, and channel 15 on Frontier Cable system, features a great lineup of award-winning original programs along with public meetings and timely announcements about city events and operations.

"Pet of the Week" - Karla

To spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.

This week’s featured pet is Karla, a 6-year-pold female German Shepherd mix. She is a shelter VIP, which means the adoption fee is waived.

Karla is a petite German Shepherd who has a gentle demeanor. She would love a family that can take her out for spa days when coat starts looking a little crazy.

She is vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, had flea treatment applied, and sterilized. Karla has tested positive for heartworms, but don't let that scare you away! Heartworm disease is very treatable, and Lewisville Animal Services will provide her heartworm treatment. Call the shelter at 972.219.3478 for more information about the heartworm treatment protocol.
