Mosquito dunks for Lewisville residents

Post Date:August 08, 2025

The City of Lewisville is offering free mosquito dunks to Lewisville residents to help combat mosquitoes in their yard.

While supplies last, the dunks can be picked up in person at Lewisville City Hall, Permitting Counter, second floor, 151 W. Church Street, during normal business hours. Residents will need to provide proof of residency, such as a government-issued ID, utility bill, auto insurance, or similar documentation.

What is a Mosquito Dunk? It looks like a small, beige donut which floats on standing water. As the Dunk slowly dissolves, it releases a bacterium which is toxic to all species of mosquito larvae.

  • Each dunk kills mosquito larvae for 30 days or more
  • Approved for use in organic production
  • Each dunk covers up to 100 square feet of water, regardless of depth for 30 days or more
  • Use Mosquito Dunks in any standing water including rain barrels, bird baths, tree holes, elevator shafts, planter reservoirs, or rain gutters.
