Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Spectrum and Frontier Communications cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

Free Pilates, yoga, and tai chi classes return to Wayne Ferguson Plaza

Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church Street, is the place to be to work out for free, three days a week for Pilates, yoga, and tai chi classes.

Audrey Green-Redier, with Pilates in the City, will teach the fundamentals of Pilates every Monday beginning at 6:30 p.m. Classes are open to all skill levels. Each week, classes will progress so that any level can benefit from the restorative and strength conditioning. Attendees must bring their own mat. Starting in July classes will move to Thursday evenings.

Blue Anjou Yoga Studio will hold Yoga in the Plaza classes every Wednesday at 6 p.m. These classes are open to all yoga levels. Attendees need to bring their own yoga mat, or blanket, towel, and water. Hand sanitizer will be available.

Tai Chi Ch’uan Essential class with Lowell Johnson will take place every Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Classes will last one hour and will include the 22-movement form of Tai Chi which is one of slow, big movement and flowing form which can help relieve the physical effects of stress on the body and mind, promotes balance control, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. Participants are encouraged to wear loose comfortable clothing and flat-soled shoes. Hand sanitizer will be available.

These classes are a public activation of Wayne Ferguson Plaza in accordance with recommendations in the “Old Town” Big Move of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan. The plan can be viewed at
