Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Spectrum and Frontier Communications cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

Performance Line-up

  • Jan. 16, 7:30 p.m., Red River Traveling Songwriters, (this performance takes place in the Performance Hall, $15 tickets but with reserved seating): An annual favorite, the Red River Songwriters return to MCL Grand for another intimate Black Box Songwriter Series concert featuring Susan Gibson, Josh Grider, Drew Kennedy, and Walt Wilkins. After several years of sell-out performances, this year’s song swap moves into the Performance Hall. Don’t miss these four longtime friends and musical storytellers as they prepare for the Red River Songwriter’s Festival later that month.

  • As of Friday, Feb. 14 show is SOLD OUT - Feb. 23, 6:30 p.m., Mary Gauthier, is a regular on Grand Ole Opry, and has had songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Jimmy Buffett, Bobby Bare Sr., Bettye Lavette, Amy Helm, Mike Farris and many others. Eight albums into her career, she was named, “One of Americana’s most admired artists across the US and around the world,” by The Wall Street Journal, noting her “razor-sharp eye for detail and her commitment to unsentimental self-reflection.”

  • * Rescheduled: Sunday, Aug. 9, 28, 6:30 p.m.: Kelly Willis and Jamie Lin Wilson, Song Swap: Kelly Willis, an Austin-based singer/songwriter, is Back Being Blue, to take a color-coded cue from the title of her seventh album. This is an album of songs about lonesomeness that also happens to be a cracklingly good time. Jamie Lin Wilson is easy to love. With her warm, strong vocals, sly sense of humor, and lyrics that highlight the details that most of us miss, she creates stark vignettes: footsteps in the hall outside a motel room; the way a lover lays their head down at night; a humble but inviting front porch. This concert is sponsored in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

  • ** New concert date, Saturday, Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m., Beat Root Revival and Pat Byrne: Comprised of multi-instrumentalists Ben Jones from Kent, England and Belfast, Ireland native Andrea Magee, Beat Root Revival has been taking American audiences by storm with their utterly original sonic amalgam of folk, rock, country, and traditional Irish sounds. After landing in America five years ago, the duo has stolen the hearts of captive audiences, most recently as support for the Brian Wilson’s “Pet Sounds" tour; they have also toured as the opening act for Brian Setzer, The Fixx and ABC’s Nashville TV star Jonathan Jackson. Pat Byrne is an Irish singer songwriter, living between Austin, Texas, and County Carlow, Ireland. Pat's voice strikes an emotional chord with his audience; ranging from seductive whisper one moment, to full-bodied rock 'n' roll growl the next. His latest work reflects both his Irish roots and the rich influence of the musicians he’s recently worked with in Texas.
