City offices, library, senior center, animal services and the recreation center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. All essential services will continue to operate; trash and recycling services will NOT be affected.

Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Time Warner and Verizon VFIOS cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

VAL "America the Beautiful" Exhibit

Nationalist - credit David BlowThe Visual Art League of Lewisville presents the America the Beautiful exhibit, beginning Saturday, Jan. 5, at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

What makes America beautiful? Local artist members of the Visual Art League of Lewisville have created artwork depicting what they each find beautiful about our amazing nation. Come visit the Art Gallery at MCL Grand to enjoy and explore the diversity found in the scenery and people of America combined with the diversity of artistic expression.

This exhibit will run through Saturday, Feb. 9.

An opening reception will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 7-9 p.m., at MCL Grand. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Visual Arts League of Lewisville is one of eight local groups receiving funding from the City of Lewisville through a grant program designed to foster cultural and fine arts in the community.

Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater is the premier public arts center in Southern Denton County. Opened in January 2011, the facility includes a 300-seat proscenium theatre, block box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and five classrooms. Medical City Lewisville has a multi-year naming rights agreement for the facility.

To reach MCL Grand from I-35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. MCL Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall.
