Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Time Warner and Verizon VFIOS cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

Grab a book and share new experiences with friends and family at the Lewisville Public Library, 1197 W. Main Street. The Library is open Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Bats!
For all ages (recommended for elementary-aged and up)
Monday, Oct. 22, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Bats aren't creepy--they're cool. Whether they're eating harmful insects, pollinating plants, or dispersing seeds, bats are a vital part of ecosystems all over the world! Join us to learn more about these important animals with a Texas Master Naturalist! Presented in partnership with Science With Attitude (SWAt), an outreach project of Texas AgriLife Extension in Denton County. No registration required.

Stay Crafty: Adult Craft Night
Tuesday, Oct. 23, 7-8 p.m.
Make it and take it home at Stay Crafty, Lewisville Public Library's monthly craft event. October's craft will be falling leaf mobiles. All supplies are provided. Registration is not required, but space is limited. Tickets will be handed out at The Hive service desk 15 minutes prior to the class start time. Attendees must have a ticket to attend.

How to Prepare for a Hiring Fair
Wednesday, Oct. 24, 6-8 p.m.
Learn how to prepare for a hiring fair with Texas Veterans Commission. In this workshop, we will be talking about what to bring, what to wear, and how to start conversations with potential employers in preparation for the statewide Veteran hiring event "Red, White, & You" on November 8 in locations across North Texas. No registration required.

LPL Teen Advisory Group Presents: Children’s Autumn Festival
For families with children ages 4-8
Oct. 25, 6:30-8 p.m.
Step right up for autumn fun. LPL’s Teen Advisory Group invites you to a fun, free, mini-carnival inside the Children’s Wing. Play games, make crafts, decorate a goody bag and collect candy. No registration required, and all activities are while supplies last. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
