THE CITY OF LEWISVILLE ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.257 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.90.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Time Warner and Verizon VFIOS cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

Special screening of The Nathan Hale Story

Hale 8Join On the Ground Designs and the MCL Grand for a work-in-progress screening of The Nathan Hale Story – The Story of One Man’s Journey from Pro Motocross Rider to Hot Rod Builder, Saturday, Sept. 22, 6:30 p.m., Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

Nathan is a husband, father, and hot rod builder based in Lewisville, Texas. Experience the real-life story surrounding Nathan’s pro motocross days, starting a family, and building his unique and successful business – all while battling and overcoming addiction. Through hard work, skill, and unwavering determination, Nathan has overcome almost anything that has come his way.

This work-in-progress screening is free to attend, though attendees must register at thenathanhalestory.com.

The red carpet reception begins at 6:30 p.m. View a collection of Nathan Hale custom hot rods on display outside the theater, snap your photo on the red carpet, and enjoy concessions. Film screening takes place at 8 p.m. Please note: This film contains adult language and subject matter. Smartphones, cameras, and other recording devices are not allowed in the theater.

Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater is the premier public arts facility in Southern Denton County. The 40,000-square-foot facility features a 296-seat proscenium theater, Black Box theater, dance recital hall, art gallery, five art classrooms and a large courtyard. Medical City Lewisville has a multi-year agreement with the city for naming rights at MCL Grand.

To reach MCL Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. MCL Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall.
