Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Time Warner and Verizon VFIOS cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

"Sounds of Lewisville” summer concert slate announced

Post Date:April 16, 2018
The popular “Sounds of Lewisville” concert series, a free family favorite since 1991, will present nine shows this year at Wayne Ferguson Plaza in the heart of historic Old Town Lewisville. New for 2018, each concert will feature an opening act.

Concerts start at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night in June and July. The opening acts will perform 7-7:45 p.m.; the headliners will perform 8-9:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for their comfort. Well-behaved pets on a leash are allowed at the shows. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The series kicks off June 5 with Just Like P!NK – The Ultimate P!NK Experience, sponsored by Topgolf. Cherry Bomb – a Joan Jett tribute will be the opening act. New performers in this year’s Sounds series include Forever Mac – A Celebration of Fleetwood Mac (July 10), Warehouse – A Dave Matthews tribute (June 19), and Desperado – an Eagles tribute, presented by Topgolf (July 3). The award-winning Wayne Ferguson Plaza is a 1.5-acre urban park that takes on a contemporary sweeping gesture using water to link east to west and united Lewisville City Hall and MCL Grand. It features an elevated stage, a multi-level seating area, an interactive splash pad and a garden filled with swathes of native grasses and wildflowers.

To reach the concert sites from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The MCL Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Charles streets, or at Lewisville City Hall.
