The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Time Warner and Verizon VFIOS cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

Paws in the Park cancelled due to weather
UPDATE: The threat of inclement weather this Saturday, April 21, has forced the cancellation of some events of the annual Paws in the Park adoption event.
The Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge Boulevard, will still offer half-price adoptions during normal shelter hours, 1-5 p.m., for all cats and dogs. The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) will still offer low-cost vaccinations from 10 a.m.-noon.
All other activities such as the Wiener Dog & Wannabe Wiener Dog Race have been cancelled.
Lewisville Animal Services will hold its annual Paws in the Park adoption event on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge Blvd., across from Lone Star Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park.
Paws in the Park is a free, large-scale adoption event incorporating fun for all ages throughout the day, featuring on-site adoptions, rescue organizations, educational opportunities, pet-related vendors, pet and owner caricature artist, and a demonstration by Search One Rescue Team.
There also will be the 5th annual Wiener Dog & Wannabe Wiener Dog Race. A weenie dog applicant must have the appearance of a dachshund. A wannabe applicant must be a small dog (under 15 lbs.) of any breed or mix that wishes it were a dachshund and wants to race. The winners from each category will compete in a final race. Trophies will be awarded for each category and a grand prize trophy will be given to the fastest racer of the day. Shot records and current rabies vaccinations are required for all racing applicants.
HALF-PRICE ADOPTIONS - Lewisville Animal Services will be offering half-price adoptions at this event from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for all dogs and cats.
In N Out Burger will be giving out free burgers to the first 500 visitors, Raisin’ Cane’s will provide free tea and lemonade, and Tikiz Shaved Ice also will be on site.
