Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

This page will allow you to see what we send to the media, whether it makes it into print or not. The city publicizes projects, programs, achievements, safety tips, ordinances, Council actions, public notices, special events, and much, much more through News Releases.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Time Warner and Verizon VFIOS cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

Public Library Activities

The Lewisville Public Library is now offering a “Book A Librarian” service that allows library card holders to schedule a 30-minute appointment with a librarian for one-on-one assistance.

Get help with computer basics, learn the basics of using your mobile device, setup access to Library ebooks, and more. Book A Librarian appointment requests must be made at least 4 business days in advance of the preferred appointment date.

Other Library Activities

WiFi Mobile Hotspots available from the Library 

The Library now offers a collection of WiFi mobile hotspots that are available for check out. Connect multiple devices at home or on-the-go. A hotspot may be borrowed for one week. A patron may check out one hotspot per library card. Visit the Library Accounts Desk for details. The mobile hotspot collection is funded by a donation from PointBank.

Library League of Heroes
For all ages
Monday, Nov. 20, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Put on your mask and grab your cape, because the Library is having a celebration of all things superhero. Join us for trivia, games, crafts, a costume competition, and plenty of photo opportunities. Stop in to save the day, and don't forget to dress up like your favorite superhero (or villain)!

Afternoon Movie Break: The Emoji Movie
For all ages
Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2 – 3:30 p.m.

Take a break from Thanksgiving planning and join us for a free family film. Today we will be showing “The Emoji Movie.” Free tickets will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis at the Youth Services Desk 30 minutes prior to show time.
