Living in the Metroplex makes it difficult to get hometown news on a daily basis, so the City of Lewisville is doing its best to keep you informed through several avenues.

The city also operates two Municipal Access cable channels, LVTV Prime and LVTV Leisure, available on the basic tier of the Time Warner and Verizon VFIOS cable systems. LVTV Prime (TW-16, VF-15) broadcasts programs and announcements with basic information about city events and operations, while LVTV Leisure (TW-96, VF-16) focuses on the parks and recreation field.

Old Town Holiday Stroll

Ring in the holiday season with the whole family at the Old Town Holiday Stroll, Saturday, Nov. 18, noon-9 p.m., in Old Town Lewisville. Admission and all activities are free.

Attendees will enjoy winter carnival attractions, performances by community groups, live music, Lewisville Lights! tree-lighting ceremony, and a showing of The Polar Express in Wayne Ferguson Plaza. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs and cozy up for the classic family holiday film under the stars.

New this year to Stroll is Lightwire, a touring performance group seen on America's Got Talent, that will perform as part of the Lewisville Lights! ceremony.

Schedule of events:

  • Noon – 6 p.m.: Community performances and stroll activities
  • 6 p.m.: Lightwire Theater performance
  • 6:30 p.m.: Lewisville Lights! tree lighting ceremony
  • Around 6:45 p.m.: The Polar Express movie begins
As part of this year’s Holiday Stroll activities, attendees will be able to participate in snowball races, pony rides, a petting zoo, KLB snowball fun, simulated ice skating, and trackless train rides.

This year’s Old Town Holiday Stroll is being held earlier than in past years to give Old Town retailers a jump on the gift-buying season.

The Pancake Breakfast with Santa, the Motorcycle Toy Run, photos with Santa, and the Huffines Auto Dealerships Lewisville Parade will all take place on Saturday, Dec. 2.
