The City of Lewisville invites residents to attend Learn Lewisville, a public event designed to help residents discover exciting ways to engage with their community. The event will take place Saturday, June 13, 1–4 p.m. at Thrive, located at 1950 S. Valley Parkway.
This free, family-friendly event is designed to help residents:
- Connect with neighbors and strengthen community engagement
- Learn about City programs that help revitalize homes and neighborhoods
- Explore resources, services, and opportunities offered by City departments
Free food and drinks will be provided.
Attendees also will have the opportunity to:
- Explore the Bearcat, the Lewisville Police Department’s SWAT vehicle
- View a Lewisville Fire Department vehicle
- Watch a special Lewisville Police Department drone demonstration
Below are several engaging activities and opportunities that will be featured at this year’s event:
- Play Lewisville On Wheels (PLOW) – Interactive activities for children, along with information about upcoming summer programs and activities at Thrive
- Lewisville Animal Services – Snake-catching demonstrations and a stuffed animal adoption center for kids
- Public Services – A water system display and educational information about water services and infrastructure
- Planning Department – Interactive information and displays related to the Lewisville 2035 Plan
- Community Engagement & Tourism – A fun Plinko game with promotional prizes and giveaways
- Library – Button-making activities and information on library programs, events, and volunteer opportunities
- LLELA – The “Nature on Wheels” interactive display featuring educational nature exhibits and hands-on learning opportunities
- Lewisville Emergency Communications (9-1-1 Services) – Information and brochures about emergency communication resources, including Text-to-9-1-1 and What3Words
- Neighborhood Services – Information about community programs and neighborhood enhancement resources
- Lewisville Police Department – Child ID opportunities and an impaired driving demonstration featuring a Walk-and-Turn Test using drunk goggles
- Human Resources – Information on current employment and volunteer opportunities with the City of Lewisville
