Budget Public Hearing

The Lewisville City Council will hold two public hearings on the Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget.

The first public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3, 6 p.m., in the Council Chambers at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church Street.

The second public hearing is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9, 7 p.m., in the Council Chambers at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church Street.

The proposed budget includes increasing the property tax rate from .436086 per $100 valuation to .443301 per $100 valuation. This is an increase of approximately $6 per month to the average homeowner in Lewisville. Even with the increase, Lewisville will still have one of the lowest property tax rates among North Texas cities.

The additional revenue will be used to cover the cost increase related to hiring 10 additional police officer positions and three civilian police positions; opening and operating Thrive, the City's new 86,000 square foot multi-generational center and indoor aquatic facility; and investing in the City's existing infrastructure, such as streets, sidewalks, and alleys.

The proposed budget document is available for review on the Annual Budget page and at the City Secretary’s Office or at the Lewisville Public Library during regular hours. If you have questions regarding the budget, please contact Gina Thompson, Director of Strategic Services, at 972.219.3408.
