The Special Events division manages all major citywide special events, including the popular Western Days festival, Holiday Stroll, Sounds of Lewisville summer concert series, and Keeping Tradition Alive Jam Session with firefighter bagpipes and drum corps. These activities are funded through a combination of Hotel-Motel Occupancy Tax (HOT) designated by the state for tourism operations, and event sponsorships or revenue.

Firefighter Jam Session

  • Date: May 03, 2019 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Location: Wayne Ferguson Plaza
    150 W. Church Street
    Lewisville, Texas 75057
  • Introduction: Free firefighter/police pipes and drums concert

2019 KTA Logo The Lewisville Fire Department is scaling back some of the events for Keeping Tradition Alive Jam Session at Wayne Ferguson Plaza due to inclement weather.

The event will still feature performances by hundreds of firefighter bagpipers, drummers, and honor guard members from across the country, but they will be the only musical acts. Maylee Thomas Band was scheduled to perform, but those plans changed due to the inclement weather.

The inflatable attractions have also been cancelled, but food and drinks will still be available for purchase.

Wayne Ferguson Plaza opens at 6 p.m. for this free event with performances starting at 7 p.m.
