Keep Lewisville Beautiful Helps Clean up a Ton of Trash
Keep Lewisville Beautiful volunteers collected more than a ton of trash and debris from local waterways during the 20th annual Trinity Trash Bash on Saturday, Sept. 17. The free event was held in conjunction with the Trinity River Environmental Educational Society and was part of a collective effort involving more than 33 local communities.

KLB partnered with the City of Lewisville, Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area, TREES and Kayak Power to make this local event successful. More than 150 volunteers participated, picking up 2,820 pounds of trash from Lewisville creeks, streams, shoreline, canals and along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. Unusual items picked up along with the expected paper bags and plastic cups included a stuffed deer head, a car door, rotten carpeting, a water main lid, a wallet and several car parts and tires.
