Election Information for May 8, 2010 Election.
Any eligible Denton County Registered Voter may cast their vote during early voting at any early voting site within Denton County. Any eligible Dallas County Registered Voter may only cast their vote during early voting at the Municipal Annex. First day for early voting by personal appearance begins the 12th day before the election and the last day of regular early voting by personal appearance concludes on the 4th day before the election. Please see below for important dates regarding the election. Citizens are encouraged to bring their voter registration cards with them to the polling location. To determine if you are registered to vote in Denton County, please visit the Denton County Elections website: http://elections.dentoncounty.com. If you have any questions regarding your registration card, please contact Denton County Elections Division at 940.349.3200. Early Voting by Personal Appearance April 26 - May 4, 2010 First day for early voting by personal appearance begins April 26, 2010 and concludes on May 4, 2010. Early voting is being held at the Lewisville Municipal Annex, 1197 West Main Street. Hours for this location are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with extended hours of 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on May 3 and 4, 2010. For a list of additional early voting locations and times, please click here Vote Early by Mail A registered voter is eligible to early vote by mail if the voter meets at least one of the following criteria: a. Out of the county The voter will be out of the county of the voter's residence on Election Day and during the hours of voting at the main early voting polling place during the part of the period for early voting by personal appearance remaining after the voter's early voting ballot application is submitted to the city secretary. If the voter does not submit the application before early voting by personal appearance begins, the voter is ineligible for early voting by mail, unless the voter is absent from the county when the application is submitted. b. Disability The voter has an illness or physical condition that prevents the voter from appearing at the polling place on Election Day. c. Age The voter is 65 years of age or older on Election Day. d. Confinement in Jail The voter is confined in jail at the time the application is submitted: serving a misdemeanor sentence for a term that ends on or after election day; pending trial after denial of bail; without bail pending an appeal of a felony conviction; or pending trial or appeal on a bailable offense for which release on bail before Election Day is unlikely.
