VOLUNTEER ADVISORY BOARD

Lewisville/Flower Mound Teen Court has in place a Volunteer Advisory Board. This board is made up of 6 to 12 youth volunteers. The term of office is one year and begins right after the August volunteer training. Applications are accepted at the training. The coordinator and judge then choose the board members.

The purpose of the board is to offer recommendations and suggestions on issues related to Teen Court and participate as a leader. Board members are to be informed about Teen Court in order to represent it to the community. Members also help train new volunteers as well as plan volunteer training and possible get-togethers, such as the holiday party.
Meetings are typically held twice a year, in the fall and spring. If more than two meetings are missed, the member is removed from the board. The coordinator sets up meetings on school in-service days when youth are not in school.
