This unit is comprised of a sergeant, four officers and the Canine Unit. Their mission is to focus their attention to effect an immediate change to existing crime trends based upon crime analysis information. This unit conducts every thing from surveillance details to bicycle patrol. The Canine Unit is comprised of Officer Paul Nathan and his police service dog, Kane. Our award-winning canine unit is available to the police department to detect narcotics and to track missing persons and eluding suspects. See Kane in action here as he demonstrates "bite work" on a decoy. "Kane" is a 4 1/2 year old Czech Shepherd and lives full time with Officer Nathan. As one might suspect, these two "partners" become very close and provide an excellent resource to other Lewisville Police officers in course of their normal duties. This unit is under the command of Captain Todd Taylor of the Criminal Investigations Division. Captain Taylor can be reached at (972) 219-3623 or by e-mail.
