March

POPCORN CONCERT - "Peter and the Wolf"
Lewisville Lake Symphony and LakeCities Ballet Theatre

Conductor Adron Ming, the Lewisville Lake Symphony, narrator Fox 4's Chip Waggoner, and the LakeCities Ballet tell Sergei Prokofiev’s cunning tale at the Family Popcorn Concert. Children and grown-ups of all ages have a fine time finding out if Peter and his friends can outsmart that wolf and, it just so happens, learn a few musical songs along the way. For advanced tickets and more information visit www.lewisvillesymphony.org. Advance tickets cannon be purchased at the recreation centers. Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the event. Seating is limited so please plan to arrive early.

Tickets prices: $10 for 18 and older, $5 children, non-walking infants are free, $8 for students and 60+.


23rd Annual Funny Bunny Festival
Railroad Park, 1301 Railroad Street

$1 admission per person (no charge for children 3 and under)



Come visit with the Funny Bunny, play carnival games, and get your face painted! Our annual old fashioned egg hunts will be held in the ball field areas. Ages will be notated. Parents will not be permitted to enter into the egg hunt area with their children nor will strollers be permitted in these areas. Egg hunt participants under the age of 3 should be accompanied by one parent only. The Lewisville Noon Rotary Club will be preparing a pancake breakfast for a small fee under the big tent. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., under the pavilion. Souvenir portraits will also be available at a minimal cost. For more information call our recreation center at 972.219.5061. Come early and enjoy the morning festivities before the egg hunt.

Earth Day Celebration & 5K/10K runs
Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area
Saturday, April 24

Celebrate Earth Day at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning area. Participants will enjoy bison tours, guided hikes, children's activities, and tours of the Minor-Porter Log House throughout the day. Other programs and activities include a 5K and 10K runs, a demonstration of Live Birds of Prey, live music by Erica Wheeler, and opportunities to learn to kayak. Admission and parking is free. Shuttles will transport guests from the Lewisville City Hall to the event site. For more information or to register for the 5K or 10K please call 972.219.3560.

Old Town Lewisville Farmers Market

Each year in May the Old Town Lewisville Farmers Market, a seasonal open-air forum for Denton County returns to Wayne Ferguson Plaza. The market has a variety of North Texas-grown products, as well as pasta, bakery items, cedar furniture, eco-friendly bags, and other green vendors. Western Day Festival

Find the cowboy in you at Lewisville's annual Western Day festival in Old Town Lewisville. Bring your family to this western event, designed to showcase Lewisville's rich history. Festival stages will feature live country music and entertainment while festival-goers partake in the unique arts and crafts vendors, gunfight re-enactments, trick ropers, Tailwaggers Ranch, antique car show, national tamale-eating championship, and longhorn cattle drive. Family fun doesn't stop there with children's activities including a petting zoo, playland area, facepainters, sketch artists, TootallTex, and more. The Parks and Leisure Services Department hosts this safe family-friendly environment for the community Activities include a walk around the haunted ball fields, a hay ride, carnival rides, a cake walk and a costume contest. Holiday at the Hall
Old Town Lewisville

The eighth annual Holiday at the Hall festival will be held in Old Town Lewisville and features a wide range of free family events. Since its inception, this award-winning festival has grown into a fascinating winter wonderland of holiday ambiance and spirit of the season. More than 15,000 people attend the yearly celebration, which was named the best special event in the country in 2003 among cities with similar population by the City-County Communications and Marketing Association. The festival includes local favorites such as the Holiday Lights! Old Town Lighting, Polar Ice Carving Village, Breakfast with Santa, a parade down Main Street, live entertainment, strolling entertainment, visits with Santa Claus, and the annual Motorcycle Toy Run.
