Senior Activity Center 972-219-5050 (Office) We think the operative word in our name is “activity,” and there are lots of them here for you to enjoy. We strive to offer a wide variety of activities including special events, classes and trips. Many programs and seminars at the Senior Activity Center are free of charge. Recreation & Enrichment The Senior Activity Center offers a variety of recreational and social activities including arts & crafts, music, dance, exercise, drama, billiards, pinochle, bunco, bingo, Hand & Foot, and various table games as dominoes, and much more! Holiday gatherings, special events, day tours, over-nights, and extended trips are also popular activities. Some of our free monthly services include Medicare Assistance, annual income tax assistance, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings and health seminars and financial workshops.First Friday Dances First Friday Dances are held every month from 7:00pm-9:30pm and the cost is $5. The Senior Center is located at 1950A S Valley Parkway. For more information, contact the center at 972-219-5050.The Senior Connection Published bi-monthly, this Newsletter contains the Center Calendar, upcoming events, classes, seminars, information about agencies at the Center, news, the Daily Lunch Menu, and much, much more! Newsletters may be picked up free of charge at the Center, Lewisville Public Library, Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, and the PALS office. You may have the Senior Connection mailed to your home for $5.00 per year. A link is provided on this page to access the current edition of the Senior Connection. Volunteer Opportunities There are many opportunities to volunteer your time and talents at the Center and in the Community. Instructors, lunch helpers, and administrative volunteers find themselves needed and appreciated at the Lewisville Senior Activity Center! For more information call 972-219-5050. Nutrition - SPAN Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 12:00p.m. by SPAN (Services Program for Aging Needs). Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 972-219-5054 at least 24 hours in advance. Suggested donation is $1.50 for those 60 and over and $3.50 for those under age 60. For information on home delivered meals and additional services call SPAN at the NEW toll-free number, 1-877-382-1900. Transportation Transportation to the Senior Activity Center and other places within the city limits is provided to Lewisville residents through the DCTA Connect bus service.
