Entertainment announced for Cinco de Mayo festival
The entertainment schedule has been announced for Lewisville’s sixth annual Cinco de Mayo, to be held Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Main Street in the heart of Old Town Lewisville. Headlining the festival will be Grupo Sueno, Tyler Marco Band and The Image Band. Earlier in the day, crowds will enjoy shows by dance groups from Central Elementary School, Delay Middle School, Lewisville High School, and Dancers Workshop.

City Council approves residency restrictions for registered sex offenders
The Lewisville City Council on Monday approved an ordinance that prohibits some registered sex offenders from living within 1,500 feet of schools, daycares, playgrounds and other public places where children routinely gather.

City hires Emergency Management Coordinator
The City of Lewisville has filled its new Emergency Management Coordinator position by hiring Summer Wilhelm. She will begin her duties with the Lewisville Fire Department on Jan. 2.

Dickens named county's top police officer for 2007
The Heroes of Denton County recently recognized Lewisville Police Department officer Steve Dickens as the 2007 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year in recognition of his life-saving actions on both Jan. 18 and Feb. 21.
