Public Comments
The Lewisville City Council has established this formal Public Comment system as a means to solicit input on significant rulemaking decisions. It first was used in April 2009 when the council was considering multiple amendments to the city's gas and oil drilling ordinance. At the direction of council, this Public Comment page will be activated for a 30-day window to accept input on a specifically defined topic. To receive e-mail notification of any future Public Comment windows, click on the registration link at the bottom of this page.

Proposed Changes:
When the Public Comment module is active, this section will provide details on the proposed rulemaking being considered or background on the issue being placed before the public for formal input. This could be a new or revised ordinance, or any other rulemaking opportunity being considered by the City Council. The status of this Public Comment module does not impact other existing methods for submitting comments, suggestions or concerns to city staff or elected officials -- all of those outlets remain available at all times and include e-mail, telephone, mail or attendance at public meetings.
Guidelines for Submitting Comments:
Written public comments will be accepted on the topic described above for the period defined above. Please review these requirements prior to submitting public comments.
1. All comments received that abide by the rules set forth here will be compiled into a single collection for review by city staff and/or City Council.
2. Only comments directly related to the posted topic will be accepted at this time; comments on any other topic should be sent directly to the city department responsible for that area.
3. Comments will be accepted only during the established Public Comment period. Submissions that are received after the closing of the Public Comment period will not be included in the compilation prepared for city staff and/or City Council.

6. You will not receive a personal response to any statements or questions you submit through a formal Public Comment.
7. All submissions for Public Comment are, by definition, public documents and thus are subject to release and disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act.
