Three ton bronze cowboy statueOld Town Lewisville soon will add a new resident – an 18-foot-high bronze sculpture that will be placed on the grounds of Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church Street. Installation of the statue, formerly housed in the lobby of the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, will be scheduled for later this summer.
Library job hunting classThe Lewisville Public Library will hold a free class on July 31 to help adult job-hunters (ages 18 and over). The class, “How to Complete Online Forms & Job Applications,” will be 2-2:45 p.m. in the Library Computer Lab, 1197 W. Main Street.
VAL concert set for July 31The Visual Art League of Lewisville and Acoustic Fridays present Stephanie Jackson in concert on Saturday, July 31, at 6 p.m., at the VAL Gallery, 701 S. Stemmons Fwy. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.
Lewisville lifeguard teams competeOn July 9-10, Lewisville sent two lifeguard teams to compete in the North Texas Guard Games Competition. The teams placed 5th and 6th overall among 34 teams. The teams also walked away with second-place medals in the fitness event, first-place medals in the obstacle course event,

Old Town Farmers Market now openThe 2010 season for the Old Town Farmers Market opened May 15 and will run through Oct. 30, opening each Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until noon at Wayne Ferguson Plaza (North Poydras and Main).

Water Conservation InformationThe City of Lewisville is currently in Stage 1;Voluntary Conservation Stage of the Water Conservation and Emergency Water Management Plan. Stage 1 will remain in effect until further notice. This stage does recommend that all outdoor watering be done on the water customer's regularly scheduled garbage collection days.
