CITY OF LEWISVILLE The Lewisville City Council currently makes appointments to ten City boards/commissions/committees. Appointments are considered by the Council prior to June 30 of each year for expiring terms of office on the following: Animal Services Advisory Committee Charter Review Commission Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee Library Board Old Town Design Review Committee Park Board Planning and Zoning Commission Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, Number One Board of Directors Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, Number Two Board of Directors Zoning Board of Adjustment In addition to these standing appointments, the Council may, from time to time, appoint individuals to fill interim terms created by current members who can no longer serve, and appoint special study committees. If you are interested in serving on a board/commission/committee, complete a data sheet and return to the City Secretary’s Office. The data sheets are submitted to the Council prior to upcoming appointments and as vacancies occur during the year. The data sheets are retained by the City Secretary for a period of one year. The City also has four corporation boards. The terms of office for the corporation boards have various expiration dates.. Those boards are: Lewisville Industrial Development Corporation Lewisville Housing Finance Corporation Lewisville Parks and Library Development Corporation Lewisville Local Government Corporation We encourage interested citizens to visit with any Council member and express their desire to serve our community in any of these capacities. Applicants for boards/commissions/committees will be notified as appointments are being considered and the date and time that informal receptions and interviews will be held by the council to meet and talk with individuals interested in serving. |
