GENERAL LEAGUE RULES (ALL LEAGUES)

1. All players must be at least 16 years of age at the time they participate (any player between the ages of 16-18 must have parental consent in writing attached to the roster) for open and church play. All players must have a picture ID in their possession should a protest occur on eligibility. Any player not having their ID will be ineligible to play until proof is provided.
2. Players may participate in more than one league sponsored by the City of Lewisville. Any player found playing under an assumed name will be suspended along with the coach for the remainder of the season. A game can be forfeited if there are any players on the team whose names are not on the roster.
3. No player may be playing or have played for a middle school, high school, college (2 or 4 year), semi-pro or professional team from November 1, 2011, through the completion of this season.
4. Leagues will use a running clock except for time outs in the first 18 minutes of each half - a regulation clock will be used for the final 2 minutes of each half. Clock will stop after every basket made until the ball is inbounded for the last minute of the game. If a team is ahead by 20 points or more, the clock will not stop in the last two minutes of the game.
5. Game Time is Forfeit Time. Each team will be allowed 5 time outs per game - time outs will not be carried over into overtimes from regulation game. At game time, team captains may opt to begin using their allocated time outs consecutively, until the required number of players is in attendance. Teams may not use the opposing team’s time outs in order to extend the waiting period. After the allocated time outs have been used, the game is officially forfeited. Please note: these time outs do begin at game time, regardless of the status of the previous game.
6. Overtimes will be 3 minutes. Regulation clock will be used
7. A jump ball will be used to start each game. Possession will alternate thereafter for all situations with the exception of: (1) double ejection; (2) start of the 1st overtime period. No dunking will be allowed. Penalty: Technical foul and possible ejection if ruled flagrant.
8. The 3-point shot will be observed in games where the floor is marked for that shot.
9. Five (5) players must be present and in proper uniform to start each game. Game time is forfeit time. No exceptions.
10. Two (2) conduct technical fouls (flagrant and/or poor sportsmanship) on any given player will result in that player's ejection. Three (3) conduct technicals on a team will constitute forfeit of the game (team captain of the team could be suspended one (1) game for forfeiture due to conduct).
11. Any player receiving 3 conduct technical fouls during the season will be automatically suspended at that time for two games. If, after returning from this suspension the player receives one additional conduct technical foul, the player will be suspended for the season.
12. Any player ejected must at that time leave the premises and will receive one additional game suspension. The additional game will be the next played game of that team. Failure to leave the premises in considerable time will result in forfeiture by that player's team and extension of the suspension. Player's conduct can extend suspension past the minimum penalty. A player's conduct before and after a game will be considered under game supervision.
13. Player to player altercations outside the building will result in suspension of all players involved for the remainder of the season.
14. Physical assault on any official will result in immediate removal from the league. Further penalties will be given through the P.A.L.S. office. Verbal threats to harm officials within and outside the facilities of play will result in removal of that player for the remainder of the season.
15. The home team (as indicated on the schedule) will be responsible for providing a suitable game ball. The visiting team's game ball must be approved for play by both teams and officials. No ball will be switched once accepted unless the ball loses air naturally.
16. No tobacco products of any type are allowed in the building.
17. Court shoes are the only accepted footwear. (Players will not be allowed to participate "bare-footed" or in socks.)
18. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises (including parking areas).
19. Players are responsible for any children brought into the building. Uncontrollable children may be sent outside of the facility by staff. Children under 7 years of age must be with a parent before, during, and after all games.
20. It is the manager's responsibility to fill out the line-up sheet prior to each game. Last name and jersey number must be filled out prior to game time.
21. Any team receiving three forfeits for any reason will be dropped from the league at that point. All remaining games will be canceled and a win recorded for the opposing team. All games played prior will remain as played.

UNIFORMS (ALL LEAGUES)
1. All players must wear matching (same color) jerseys.
2. Each player must wear a number separate from all other players' numbers.
3. All numbers must be permanently attached to the jersey (no tape or pins).
4. Each jersey must have a number on the back to be legal. Numbers elsewhere are optional.
5. No decimals, fractions, Roman numerals or 3-digit numbers accepted.
6. A jersey without a number is not to be considered as zero (0).
7. "0" and "00" are to be considered two separate numbers - same consideration given to "1" and "01", etc.
8. Numbers will not be restricted to school code sequences for local play; however, any team qualifying for regional play must comply with the accepted school code: no digits above 5 in any sequence.
9. Jersey colors will be chosen at the time of registration. The first team to sign up gets first choice. Colors may not be duplicated unless the second team desiring a particular color also has a second set of jerseys or has reversible uniforms.
