Due to the nature of the course it is mandatory that you attend ALL classes and arrive on time. We will be promptly starting class to allow you maximum time to develop your skills as a guard. We reserve the right to change the lesson plans, especially since weather dictates the pool time.

Cost: $200 ($140 at time of registration, plus $60 supply fee to the instructor on the first day of class) Lifeguard books are now available free on-line on the Red Cross website. If you wish to have a hard copy of the Lifeguard Manual, the supply fee will increase to $95.

What to bring: Each class bring with you any homework, a writing utensil, swimsuit, towel, pocket mask (included in supply fee), and any other personal items that you feel necessary. Goggles are not permitted in the class. This is because as a lifeguard you will not be wearing goggles on duty. If you wish to use them for the lap swimming portion of the pre-test, this is the only time in which they will be acceptable.

Register at either Frederick Herring Recreation Center or Memorial Park Recreation Center.
