Library Room Use

  1. The use of the library study rooms, the Baird Quiet Reading Room, the Crawford Meeting Room, and the Small Conference Room shall be consistent with the fundamental objective of the library to provide a suitable environment for research, study, reading, and literacy.
  2. Individuals and groups whose purposes are limited to civic, cultural, or educational objectives may use the rooms. Under no circumstances may the rooms be used for commercial or for-profit business purposes.
  3. Meetings and events must be open to the public at no charge, and no monetary transactions are permitted to take place in the library.
  4. Meetings and events should not interfere with normal library functions.
  5. The library reserves the right to a have a member of its staff present at any meeting or event taking place in the room.
  6. Customers using the library study rooms, the Baird Quiet Reading Room, the Crawford Meeting Room, and the Small Conference Room must comply with all city and library policies, procedures, and guidelines. Customers violating City or library policies, procedures, and guidelines may be asked to vacate the room, may be asked to leave the library, and may have library privileges revoked.
  7. The library accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage or personal items.
  8. Room furniture configuration, excluding chairs, must remain in original arrangement. Interior window solid shades must remain up except when authorized by Librarian-in-Charge.
  9. Customers must adhere to room capacity guidelines posted in each room.
  10. Library staff may reserve rooms for library and city meetings and events.
  11. Personal items left in rooms will be delivered to Lost & Found at the Customer Service Desk.

Baird Reading Room
  1. The Baird Reading Room is provided as a place for quiet, individual research, study, or reading.
  2. Cell Phone use is prohibited in the room

Adult and Teen Area Study Rooms
  1. Study Rooms are available throughout the library for public use on a first come, first serve, basis when the room has no reservations for City or library use.
  2. The rooms are available to the pubic for individual or group study, reading, tutoring, interviews, proctored exams, and other educational purposes.

Cynthia Bennett Children's Wing Study Room
  1. The Cynthia Bennett Children's Wing Study Room is available to library cardholders on a first come, first serve basis, if the room has no reservations and has no prior scheduled City or library programs or events.
  2. The Cynthia Bennett Children's Wing Study Room is available to children (age 12 and under) with a responsible adult present in the room for group study, reading, tutoring, and educational purposes.
  3. The Cynthia Bennett Children's Wing Study Room may be checked out for a two (2) hour time period if the room has no prior reservation for the requested time.
  4. One reservation for a two-hour time period per group may be made per day for the Cynthia Bennett Children's Wind Study Room.
  5. Reservations must be made in person at the library and on the same day of use.
  6. Library customers making a reservation must present a valid library card and use the same library card to check out the Cynthia Bennett Children's Wing Study Room
  7. A minimum of one (1) child and one (1) adult must occupy the room during the checkout period. The room will be checked out only when at least one (1) child and one(1) adult are present to occupy the room.
  8. The Cynthia Bennett Children's Wing Study Room will be locked when unused.
  9. The Cynthia Bennett Children's Wind Study Room is not to be advertised, publicized or identified in any manner as an individual's or group's place of meeting.

Computer Lab
  1. The library provides a Computer Lab with public access computers.
  2. The Computer Lab is open for public computing use except when reserved for library or city programs/events.
  3. Customers may use Computer Lab PCs before and after scheduled library programs.
  4. Customers using Computer Lab PCs prior to a library or city program will be reminded of the room reservation prior to the reservation time. At the scheduled time, customers using Computer Lab PCs will automatically be logged out of their sessions to make the PCs available for the scheduled event.

Crawford Meeting Room and Small Conference Room
  1. The Crawford Meeting Room and Small Conference Room are available to the public to be used for group study and other educational and cultural purposes.
  2. The Crawford Meeting Room and Small Conference Room are available to library cardholders on a first come, first serve basis, if the room has no reservation and has no prior scheduled City or library programs or events.
  3. The Crawford Meeting Room and Small Conference Room may be checked out for a two (2) hour time period if the room has no prior reservation for the requested time.
  4. One reservation for a two-hour time period per group may be made per day for the Crawford Meeting Room and Small Conference Room.
  5. Reservations must be made in person at the library and on the same day of use.

  9. The Crawford Meeting Room or Small Conference Room is not to be advertised, publicized or identified in any manner as an individual's or group's place of meeting.
  10. Room check-out will be cancelled when room is left unoccupied for fifteen (15) minutes.

Youth Program Room
  1. The Youth Program Room is available only to library and city staff.
  2. The Youth Program Room will remain locked when not in use.
  3. Persons hosting events are responsible for the set-up, tear-down, and clean up of the room.
