It covers 130 square miles of southern Denton County and serves portions of ten communities. LISD is comprised of 31 elementary schools, 10 middle schools, 6 high schools, 1 career center, 1 special education center and 1 learning center. LISD also offers a community education program that provides a wide variety of opportunities for community involvement for all ages.
LISD was selected as a Gold Medal winner in the 12th annual Education Quotient Ratings 2002 by Expansion Management.
