- From the Texas State Library and Archives Commission Interlibrary Loan Program WARNING REGARDING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS:
- "The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be 'used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research'. If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction in excess of 'fair use', that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law."
- The Lewisville Public Library will accept and process Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Requests for Lewisville Library cardholders with accounts in good standing. Library accounts must be current and free of fees and/or fines.
- The requesting cardholder must be 18 years of age or older.
- Requests may be submitted in person, by phone, by e-mail, or by fax.
- Cardholders may request up to eight titles per month.
- Individual titles may be requested only once per household per month.
- The Lewisville Public Library will request a variety of materials including books, reference books, audio books (on tape or CD), CD-ROMs, and non-fiction VHS and DVDs.
- Requests for feature films or movies on VHS or DVD will be submitted only for titles that have been released on VHS and DVD a minimum of fifteen (15) years.
- The Lewisville Public Library will request books, reference books, audio books, CD-ROMs, and non-fiction VHS and DVDs that have been published for longer than one (1) year.
- The Lewisville Public Library will only request materials that are indicated as owned by ten (10) or more libraries via the OCLC FirstSearch request system.
- When materials arrive from another library and are not picked up by the customer on three or more occasions in a six-month period, Interlibrary Loan privileges will be suspended for two months.
- Lewisville Public Library card holders are responsible for all materials checked out with their library card, including materials received from another library.
- Customers who have Interlibrary Loan items overdue longer than two weeks (14 days) will have Interlibrary Loan privileges suspended according to the following schedule:
- First overdue occurrence--3 months Interlibrary Loan privilege suspension
- Second overdue occurrence--6 months Interlibrary Loan privilege suspension
- Third overdue occurrence--1 year Interlibrary Loan privilege suspension
