WELCOME TO THE CITY OF LEWISVILLE HOMEBUYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (HAP)!
The purchase of your first home is one of the greatest investments made by individuals and families. Knowing that many people need help getting into that first home, the City of Lewisville created the First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program (FHAP) to support affordable homeownership by providing down payment, closing cost and principal reduction assistance for low to moderate-income first time homebuyers. The program is funded through an annual entitlement grant called Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Good luck and thank you for your interest in the City of Lewisville’s First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program!

Homebuyer Education Classes (Homebuyers Only)

In an effort to contribute to long-term, sustainable homeownership, the City of Lewisville First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program partners with Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) of Dallas and community professional sponsors to host a H.U.D.-approved homebuyer education course for all interested first-time homebuyers.

Regardless of whether you want to participate in the City of Lewisville homebuyer assistance program (min of 8 homebuyer education hours required) or you just want to learn about how to buy a home, we welcome everyone! Professionals from the mortgage, real estate, and insurance industries will be present to introduce their roles and services in the process and answer any questions about the home buying process. All classes include free HUD-approved Certificates of Completion and pizza for all graduates of the 8-hour class. Classes are open to the public, and are for interested home buyers.
