WELCOME TO THE CITY OF LEWISVILLE'S FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (FHAP)!
The purchase of your first home is one of the greatest investments made by individuals and families. Knowing that many people need help getting into that first home, the City of Lewisville created the First-time Homebuyer Assistance Program (FHAP) to support affordable homeownership by providing down payment, closing cost and principal reduction assistance for low to moderate-income first time homebuyers. The program is funded through an annual entitlement grant called Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Good luck and thank you for your interest in the City of Lewisville’s First-Time Homebuyer Assistance Program!
Homebuyers: Please review the minimum qualifications. Give us a call today for a qualification screening by phone. Individuals that meet our minimum qualifications will be invited to attend an orientation with city staff to complete paperwork and begin the process.
Mortgage and Real Estate Representative: Do you have a client you feel may qualify for our program? Give us a call and inform us of your potential referral to our program. Encourage them to then call our office for a qualification screening by phone.
Certification Classes: Are you Interested in becoming a participating Loan Officer/Realtor with the program? Contact us for information about the next available certification course to become approved to work with the program. A voluntary donation of $20 to the City of Lewisville Homeownership Programs Donation Fund is requested in lieu of a registration fee. Make checks payable to the City of Lewisville. Donations are tax-deductible and support Homebuyer Education and other Homeownership programs. Certificates expire after one year. Classes are held at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church St. every 2nd Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to Noon. (Click here for dates)
